Location: Dallas, TX – The National Office of Omega Delta Phi has announced a new national philanthropic collaboration with Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit that provides mental health and numerous other services to injured veterans transitioning back to civilian life. Leading this initiative was Director of Diversity Luis Feliciano from the Department of Operations.

Founded in 2003, Wounded Warrior Project is one of the largest nonprofit veterans service providers in the country, improving “the lives of millions of warriors and their families” nationwide. Headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, their stated mission is “to honor and empower wounded warriors.” Additionally, Wounded Warrior Project has fourteen office locations throughout the US and field staff where there are no brick-and-mortar offices. Further, Wounded Warrior Project has national partnerships with well-known corporations such as the NFL, USAA, and Verizon, showing their support for the nonprofit’s mission.

Beginning January 2023, Omega Delta Phi will start philanthropic efforts in collaboration with Wounded Warrior Project. The nonprofit will host a dedicated page for our fraternity so undergraduate entities can submit donations to the page. After raising a collective minimum of $5,000 annually, Omega Delta Phi will dedicate those funds toward mental health services as part of our imperative to prioritize mental health. Wounded Warrior Project has pledged to offer support resources for undergraduate entities who wish to hold local philanthropy events, and they have also expressed excitement to work with our members.

The National Office is excited for this collaboration because we are the first Greek-lettered organization to form a relationship like this with Wounded Warrior Project. “Having worked with them, this collaboration will have very fruitful results for both organizations toward a great relationship,” said Brother Luis. “Their amazing team and impeccable reputation are good signs of a future where all members can contribute successfully while fulfilling the goals of Wounded Warrior Project.”

When asked for comment, National President Jesus “Chuy” Apodaca said, “We are excited to work with Wounded Warrior Project. Their services are worthy causes for support, and I know our membership can help in ways that exceed expectations. We also feel their stated mission lines perfectly with ours, so it’s a win-win for all parties.”
