San Antonio, TX- On December 2, 2012 six Men of Vision came together in Unity and Leadership as they became the foundation of Greek Life that is now at Texas A&M University-San Antonio (TAMUSA). The Honesty and Integrity of their bond was the cornerstone of what is now the Beta Theta Chapter of Omega Delta Phi. Christopher Bradtke, Joshua De Leon, Austin Gindhart, Felipe Lopez, Armando Prado, and Joseph Rodriguez took their place in the history of this brotherhood as founders of a student organization that would remain the only fraternity on campus until this day.

Beta Theta moved forward aggressively to receive chapter status, highest GPA in the nation, and rank #2 out of 59 entities in a short period of time. On their own campus, Beta Theta continued to stand-out amongst other student organizations by receiving Student Organization of the Year. The brothers quickly rose to the spotlight of the administration at TAMUSA as they became ambassadors on campus for their leadership and participation in multiple student organizations. Beta Theta recently celebrated their 5th year anniversary on campus at TAMUSA. Their first quinquennial celebration began on Friday, December 1, 2017 when brothers gathered for a Knight Life celebration on the eve of their founding.

The following night brought their celebration full-circle with a banquet that included attendance from all six of the chapter founders. Members from the Central Texas Regional Board, Jason Castro, Kellen Hernandez, Felipe Lopez, Carlos Montez, and Richard “From Delta (now Beta Theta)” Villarreal were in attendance as well as National Directors, Taylor Baca and Ruben Espinoza. Espinoza, Director of Recruitment, recalls the event saying, “It meant so much to see the entity growth in just 5 years. I still remember recruiting on this campus for the first time. It was a special evening with special people and I couldn’t have been more blessed to be present.

Beta Theta has accomplished great things and we expect considerable accomplishments from them in the future.” As the celebratory night came to a close, a video that highlighted important moments of the chapters past 5 years played. There was a sense of pride that filled the room as memories, laughs, and tears during the nostalgic moment brought the night to a hype ending. A backdrop containing the Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Crest and a special Beta Theta 5th year anniversary design provided the banquet with excellent photo opportunities for pledge brothers and family lines to commemorate the occasion. The night concluded with a group photo of everyone in attendance with the Beta Theta Founders seated in the front row. This was the first of what we are sure will be many more anniversaries to come.
